This website is devoted to how I finally came to stop wasting my time and money on pointless traffic building strategies and techniques, which only to left me strung out… out of time and out of money – broke like a junkie in search of his next fix.

In my case, it was the latest and greatest traffic building tool.

I began my online marketing journey like most people.  Trying anything and everything to get Traffic!  No web traffic is free. It will either cost you in time or cold hard earned dollars working a day job.

Of course, if you can achieve initial success marketing your online business (which means getting the web traffic you need) you can make the money you need to reinvest back into proven traffic building strategies.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.  This entire website was created around one central theme.  Eventually, to be successful like other top internet marketers, I had to narrow my focus when it came to building traffic.

I had to stop being a web marketing addict and go deeper with each proven technique.  And there are really only four of them worth your effort.

This is my story about how I got the quality website traffic I was looking for…

I started my first online business back in 1997 when the internet was fairly young.  I learned everything there was to know about SEO and back then it worked.  Competition was minimal in most markets.  Google was young and my business grew.  My first online business was providing a service and I achieved top rankings in my niche, which I still enjoy today.

My service was and is radio production at RadioCreative.com among other domains, such as RadioProductionServices.com.

I quit my day job in 2004 and now work full time at home.  Once I started working full time from my home office, I had a new dream.  While working at home is great, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world, providing a service online simply means you have to be available for when the work flows in.

So I started to peruse my dream to be an online marketer.  The goal was to set up an automated business that made money while I slept.  Of course, this is not a new concept, but getting enough website traffic to succeed is major problem.

Once again I devoted countless hours building traffic to sell various affiliate products and achieved minimal success.  At best, the additional income provided a few extra dollars each month, but it would never replace my regular income.  While an effective sales process is also important, no matter what you are selling, the bigger problem I faced was a lack of quality traffic.

This I learned quickly, if you have traffic – you can sell anything online. As mentioned, the better your sales system is, the more money you will make.  But that does not matter if you can’t get ample traffic to your website.

So began another journey for me.  Having set up various websites selling anything from entertainment downloads to “work at home” products helping others set up their own online business,  I went on a mission to generate traffic.  It was a new addiction.

My first mistake was scattering myself too thin experimenting with various niche markets, which resulted in over 100 domains and dozens of websites.  It was kind of like throwing stuff on the wall to see what would stick. The problem with this lack of focus also translated into my lack of focus getting the traffic I needed for my online businesses.

My new addiction was trying to find traffic generating tips, tools and everything else in between to bring traffic to my various niche markets.  I was a web marketing addict through and through.

I had the devotion.  I had the work ethic.  And I had the time because I already worked full time at home.  What I DID NOT have was the right traffic system. You see, SEO worked 10 years ago, which is why I continue to enjoy page one rankings to my radio production websites using multiple keywords, but it is very difficult to build the same traffic today unless you are in a non competitive niche market.

While SEO Traffic is still an important component of getting traffic to your website, if you only rely on search engine optimization, you will not get the traffic you need.  As well, there are other methods available that will actually increase your page rank which you will miss out on if you only focus on traditional SEO traffic techniques.  Back to my story…

When the recession hit, my service based business took a big hit! The pastor of the church I attended knew that my wife and I were going through tough times.  We had three teenage kids as well to provide for.

It was at that point that he mentioned the name of fellow within our church that also did internet marketing.  My pastor said “I have no idea what he does, but I know he works at home like you!” I attend a larger church so I didn’t know the fellow.  He went on to say “he’s some type of internet marketing guru“.  So I allowed my pastor to give this guy my email address.

A few days later, I received an email with an invitation for coffee.  It was then that I met my fellow internet marketer and found out he lived within a mile from me.  He charges thousands of dollars for his “one on one” coaching program with a focus on increasing website traffic for online businesses, but because of a mutual acquittance, I was able to sit down with him for over an hour as we sipped Starbucks coffee.

He gave me a free one hour CD which he was giving away online which shared his story.  Eventually I bought his “more economical” product.  It was a four hour audio presentation revealing his four pronged approach to building traffic for any online business.

I was honest with him.  I didn’t have the cash flow to sign up for his coaching program at the time because of the recession.   But what I learned in that meeting… and later in his 4 hour audio seminar – began to change everything for me in terms of how a person gets quality traffic to their website.

I also learned that just one of his websites continues to make over $500 a day in a niche market.  He hasn’t touched the website or the sales process for five years and it keeps generating income on autopilot.

I walked away with a wealth of information and some mind blowing traffic generating strategies. Sometimes you just need someone to steer you in the right direction. A good work ethic and a commitment to stay on course it still important, but the right strategy means all the difference.

Just one of these traffic techniques, immediately brought higher quality traffic to one of my websites – resulting in instant sign ups to my mailing list.  These people on my mailing list were hungry buyers – because they were the result of QUALITY traffic.  This entire strategy is about the quality of the traffic, not only the quantity.

(The traffic source I started with was one of four recommended methods I was told that day.  And it doesn’t cost one red cent to implement).

A key element to the success of this traffic system is the absolute necessity to break your addiction to using multiple traffic techniques at once.  Focus on ONLY ONE of four proven strategies that work. Keep doing it until you master it.  Do not move on to the next traffic generation strategy until the first one is working for you and making money.

The reason this is so important is that while you need to ensure you are only spending time and effort on a proven traffic building technique, there is power in devoting all of your energy to it until you are a master.  Only then can you move on to the next method to increase traffic for your website.

Who would you rather fight?   A guy who knows a few Kung Fu moves, but doesn’t execute them very well?   Or a guy who has mastered one Kung Fu move that “kills” every time?
